Steakhouse Rubbed Strip Steak

Servings: 4


  • 4 Red River Ranch Angus strip steaks
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper, coarse ground
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil


  1. Combine all spices and olive oil to make a paste. Let stand for 1 hour.
  2. Rub the paste on both sides of the steaks. Cover with plastic wrap. Let stand at room temperature for 30 to 40 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for approximately 5 to 6 minutes per side (medium rare, 135°F internal temperature).
  5. Remove the steaks from the grill and let stand for a few minutes before eating.

Serving suggestions: grilled asparagus and creamy mustard potato salad.
